Turn out the lights on the 2017 season for the Giants, this one’s over.
Just when the Giants thought it could not get any more worse, they were reminded otherwise. This team’s in a free fall with no end in sight.
A little over a month into the season, the Giants are still winless. If there was any game they needed to have it was their week five matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Both teams came into this 0-4, but the Giants came into the season with high hopes. Some predicted them to reach the Super Bowl. Sure, they got off to a rough start but there’s enough talent there to get back on track. Right?
Prediction: The Giants are going to get this one.
Reality: Hold my beer.
While the Chargers left MetLife Stadium with their first win of the season, the Giants limped off the field with their fifth straight defeat — literally.
Four wide receivers for the Giants went down to injury in this game. It’s one thing to have one go down, two is really pushing it, but four? What are the odds?
Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Brandon Marshall, and Dwayne Harris all left with ankle and foot injuries. The injury to Beckham, a fractured left ankle, was a season-ender for him, per Giants head coach Ben McAdoo.

Beckham’s future with the team should be near the top of the list. He’s the best player on the team, the impact of his injury is catastrophic for an offense which already was having issues.
Giants Have Plenty Of Problems With No Solution In Sight
Beckham isn’t all the Giants have to worry about, this team will have plenty of bridges to cross between now and the offseason.
The offensive line remains a major problem area, the run game isn’t any better. Eli Manning is a 36-year old quarterback miscast in McAdoo’s offense.

At 0-5, the season is all but over. Denver and Seattle are next up on the schedule. The Giants could be 0-7 before they smell the win column.
Speaking of McAdoo, is he cut out to be this team’s head coach? He’s not Tom Coughlin, but he’s beginning to remind me of the Ray Handley era, and that’s not good either. If you’re asking yourself who’s Ray Handley? I just made my point.

McAdoo still believes in his players but is the feeling mutual? Losing can help build character, but it can also divide a locker room.
There’s plenty wrong with this team, they can begin at the top with management and work their way down.
